Crafting Fishing For Dummies (World of Warcraft guide)

I have been fishing going on four days now. It was a pain at first, but got easier as I went along. Here is a list of progression. Even though I only did the horde side, I researched all the alliance crap too. Paladins cry enough as it is, I didn't want them to feel left out. I am working on cooking skill at the same time. Cooking and fishing, as most of you know, go very well together.

Starting out: Getting your fishing skill.

horde Fishing (1-150)

Apprentice Fishing(1-75)

Armand Cromwell: In the Undercity. Outer circle, magic quarter, northeast.
Kah Mistrunner: Thunderbluff . Middle plateau, east section.
Lumak: Orgrimmar. Valley of Honor, at the pond.

Now you are set to get to a skill level of 75. You need to buy a fishing pole. Really cheap. If you want, you can buy bobber, lures, and other stuff that will allow you to artificially raise your fishing skill. So take that brand new fishing pole and go find a pond, lake, or ocean. No, your neighbor's swimming pool won't work, redneck.

NOTE: You can't fish in all bodies of water at a low skill. You will have to work your way up to them. If you try and fish in a body of water that is too high level for you, you will get a message saying something to the effect of "Goaway, you suck at fishing. Come back when you don't suck anymore". The best way of guaging whether you can fish or not is by looking around to see what kind of mobs are in the vicinity.

So you have fished your way up in skill. Time to go get that Journeyman rank. Not sure what the minimum skill required is (not too high, like 50), but skill level of 75 is sure to work. You can't go any higher than that anyway until you talk to a trainer.

Armand Cromwell: In the Undercity. Outer circle, magic quarter, northeast.
Kah Mistrunner: Thunderbluff . Middle plateau, east section.
Lumak: Orgrimmar. Valley of Honor, at the pond.

Yes, the same people you went to for your initial skill.

alliance Fishing (1-150)

Apprentice (1-75)

Arnold Leland: Stormwind
Astaia: Darnassus
Grimnur Stonebrand: Ironforge
Harold Riggs: Wetlands
Matthew Hooper: Redridge Mountains

You goody goodies make me sick. You get 5 trainers. Anyway, get your fishing pole in hand, grab some beer and Cheetos, and lets go fishing. If you want, you can buy bobber, lures, and other stuff that will allow you to artificially raise your fishing skill. This will get you to a skill level of 75.

So, ready for Journeyman yet? No? Then why are you reading this? Get back to fishing!!

Journeyman Fishing (75-150)

Ready now? Ok great. Head back to one of the NPC's listed above. Get your Journeyman title. You can get it at a skill level lower than 75 if you wish, 50 or so. Once you have Journeyman you are set to make it to a skill level of 150.

alliance/horde Expert Fishing (150-225)

So you think you have reached Ahab status, eh? Think again.

Once you get high enough in skill, you need to head to Booty Bay and buy a book to get your skill cap raised from 150 to 225.

***EDIT: As stated by Ty in reply, you have to be level 20 and be willing to part with 1g to buy the book.

Go see Old Man Hemming. From him you will buy a copy of "Expert Fishing: The Bass and You". You can buy it whenever you want, but you won't be able to learn it until you have reached the appropriate skill level. It costs around 1 gold 35 silver, depending on your faction arrangement with Booty Bay.

alliance/horde Artisan Fishing (>225)

You mad mad slayer of fish you!!! You have managed to get up to skill level 225. Now what? Well now you need to boogy on down to Dustwallow Marsh. There you will find Nat Pagle (Tidefury Cove, on a rock in the bay, a Nat's ass SE of map dead center, HAHA I crack myself up. Nat's ass. Get it?). You must be LEVEL 40 to get the quest.

UPDATE: Nat can be found at 58,59 Tidefury Cove

Pat is going to send you on a quest. He wants you to catch some fish for him. Yes, you have to catch them. No, you can't buy them, you lazy bastard.

Nat says:
Can't say I really enjoy fishin' much. Figure I been at it for a good 20 or 30 years now. I reckon people are driven to do what they do for different reasons. Now, I'm not saying you need to fish for 30 years or catch every fish in the sea to become a master fisherman. I reckon you just need to be determined - determined enough to sit on your duff for hours at a time, doin' nothin'. I'll tell you what, catch me a few rare fish and I'll teach you a thing or two. Here's a list:
Misty Reed Mahi Mahi from the Misty Reed Strand in the Swamp of Sorrows.

A Sar'theris Striker from the Sar'theris Strand in Desolace.

Feralas Ahi from the Verdantis River of Feralas.

Savage Coast Blue Sailfin from the Savage Coast of Stranglethorn Vale.

Go get all that stuff, take it back to Nat, and POOF!!!, you are uber. Now go catch some fish.

Leveling The GRINDING Guide 21-43 XPLoot (World of Warcraft account creation)

the
GRINDING
guide

Hi Guys and Gals, this is my first guide of hopefully many more,(I know the info here might be of no use to you whatsoever, but hey if u find it not worth your time to find out this info…Dont read it!)and its on grinding for newer-semi veteran players. My hopes are that you get a general idea of how grinding works in wow, and maybe some new places that you might never have thought of to grind…

Grinding has been one of the most effective, and most hated ways to level since the beginning of the MMO franchise. Grinding is simply leveling off of experience gained by killing a certain mob repeatedly. Heres my theory of grinding for noobs/semi-noobs:

Tips::
-Stock up on the highest water/food you can get…you will spend hours grinding..no use if u die alot…keep your health/mana up!

-Resupply your arrows/knives/bullets and fix your equipment…

-For Hunters: A useful tool that i have found is a macro that lets you autotarget the nearest enemy and cast Hunter's Mark.
###############################################
/script TargetNearestEnemy();
/cast Hunter's Mark(Rank #)
###############################################
(*where # is you fill in your highest rank HM)

-Effective grinding comes in three parts:

1) Knowing the mob you are killing and learning its(their) average stats. Know the mob type, whether it is a land, sea, air or combo creature, the average damage it does, if it has high or low resistances, and is it a spellcaster/healer. These stats will determine a good grinding mob from a bad one.

2) Know your stats/role. This is important in any aspect of this game, KNOW WHAT YOU ARE. If you are a hunter dont be a brave one and try to melee your way, or if you're a rogue dont try to throw knives at distance. Know your strenghts and use them for your advantage, thats why they are strenghts. In case you dont know what you should do here's a quick list of what each class is good at(*Doesn't mean they are best at it, just good enough to grind with):

########CLASS ROLES###################
Mage-Long Range DPS, you are a Bad A$$ DPS at long range…Short Range or Melee almost always weakens your full potential. Keep a distance (15-20 ft) and you will kill fast and effectively.

Hunter- Long Range DPS, Pretty good at grinding, got a number of tools to expend at your will…use them, also a key point to effective hunter grinding is button setup, you need something that works for quick shot acess and melee(For the times you aggro instead of your pet)

Rogue-Melee DPS, you put out what is commonly known as High Burst DPS. This means you are super efficient at killing at very close range, but when you get out of range you are vulnerable. Stay Close, Stealth, and Control your Aggro.

Paladin-Gah Pallies…I only know a few good ones…What they have in common is the ability to manage their blessings, melee and healing while not running out of mana…BROKEN CLASS FOR NOW…I wouldn't suggesting grinding with pallies unless you got a pretty good and fast wep…

Shaman-JOAT-MON (Jack of All Trades-Master of None) Shammys are special in that they can do just about everything in the book…With amazing close range dps, long range spells, insta-cast shocks, healing, totems, and mail (After 40) Shamans are a resilient class that can take a beating and keep on steaming through mobs…Use your long range to get the mobs life down initially, then finish it off with up close punishment, mixing up your shocks in between swings, keep yourself alive by dropping totems…Very effective class to grind with, but somewhat boring…

Warrior- What can I say? Charge, Rend, Sunder, hit until dead…not much to say just keep your health up, and it would be good to stay in zerker stance to kill faster. You really dont have to worry about Big Damage mobs, so you can just kill and eat/drink/bandage yourself. Also very boring I find.

Druid- You are a JOAT-MON as well, but IMHO not as powerfully crafted as the Shammy…Still you can do a few things, cast long range spells, debuff, and spam MF or melee, or you could Transform into a different form and kill that way…Still your best bet is to stick with what you have been doin to kill the past 30 lvls for effectiveness…

Priest- Gah…another funny class that is hard to grind let alone solo with…best bet is to get a place where mobs are green but not too low and grind there, or better yet get off your arse and spam chat for a party and go quest…Priests really only excel in group management, they are a support class, using debuffs/fear/and healing to keep their party thriving through the worst that the wow has to offer…
#######################################
(These are basic functions of each class, I would love for anyone who has another way to effectively grind with each class to post it on my thread…)

3. Know when to hold and when to fold. This means to know when to stay for the grind or get out and quest, But also means to know when to switch grind spots…Grinding is not always the most effective way of leveling, but it can be in some cases (i.e. When you dont have a party, and the quests you have are a little tough to do solo; When you feel like taking a break from questing [not very often]). In the cases where the grind is good, go for it, but know what, where, who, and why you are grinding.

BASICALLY:
Grinding is an alternate way aside questing to get xp at a fast rate. If you grind I suggest that you get a comfortable chair, get some good music/tv shows/movies, Find your spot, and work away. you only get out what you put in, so dont sit around waiting for a heavenly signal to start grinding…Get out there and do it.

My List of Places I went to Grind (*NOTE: I didn't start grinding until 23-24 as up until then questing is much more efficient than any mob you can kill at your level, because of this I wouldn't suggest grinding until you are at least 20):

*XP-Experience *XPR-Experience when Rested *GPH-gold per hour(Fluxuates depending on mob droprate)

23-25:
Ashenvale
Mobs:Bears and Spiders
Note: The spiders of Ashenvale are some of the most effective means of getting loot at low lvl while grinding, the bears have good xp and are fairly easily handled.
XP: 120-220
XPR: 230-345
GPH: high-2g low-30s avg-1.34g

26-27:
Wetlands
Mobs: Crocolisk Family, Raptors, oozes(With a Partner)
Note: Crocs have a quest chain that is fairly simple to complete, Raptors drop good and are good for skinning, Oozes drop green items fairly often
XP: 160-230
XPR:300-360
GPH: high-3.4g low-1g avg-2.8g

28-30:
Darkshire
Mobs:Worgen and Ogres
Note: Worgen are skinnable, Ogres drop 1-2s a piece sometimes and a fair amount of greens.
XP: 190-240
XPR: 320-400
GPH: high-3.6g low-1.3g avg-2.4g

31-36
Stranglethorn Vale
Mobs: Tigers,Panthers,Raptors
Note: Do the Chain Quests given by the NPC's at Nessingwary's Expedition, Do the Kurzen Mystery chain up to going into the Kurzen Cave, Once 33 you can run through the Kurzen Camp slowly and get some relatively sellable loot. You can also switch between Panthers and Tigers w/o having to run too far(Killing one while other spawns). This is a goldmine if you get the Whiskers that the cats drop and the teeth that the raptors drop.
XP:200-270
XPR:350-420
GPH: high-4g low-2.1g avg-2.9g

36-43
Dreadmurk Shore(Theramore)
Mobs: Turtle family
Note: wow this is where I currently am, im getting great xp and loot, raking in close to 4g avg this is the ultimate grind spot, a friend of mine told me this is where the Pay for Play Powerlevelers go for levels 36-39, but I have been told that the loot is still good well after 40.
XP: 230-300
XPR: 400-445
GPH: high-4.4g low-2.6g avg-3.7g

This is it so far…When I get higher level I will test for more places to grind. The gold Per Hour Numbers are from me and a few other friends that have grinded in each of these places.

Oh BTW this is my first guide…I know you can probably find the same information posted already on the web or in this site, but I felt that if you skipped over the other ones you might find mine…So enjoi! Hunters FTW!!!

EDIT: Mages are good at AE spamming…This is a viable and efficient way to grind to date…But, who knows when blizz will pass the oh so important Nurf-Bat on to a new class…

Leveling Grinding Areas For Lvl 19-22, 22-25, & 25-29ish (World of Warcraft client)

(i know i psted this in the general forum.. but i think this is a good one.. people at low lvls need a plce to grind if they feel they want to.. and there wasnt anything on the forums for horders….)

Ok… well last night i posted asking for a good spot.. and it seems that noone had any good spots to reply with.. so i went out searching and came up with your grinding areas for 20-30. [I am a mage (tailor/enchanting) so i went looking for humaniods

(if the links dont let you get them.. i will try to get them up somewhere asap)

ONLY horde can use the silverpine and the barrens area… but the alliance can also use the HIGH place in STONETALON

[Grind Area Level 19-22] [Silverpine Forrest]
the first area that is just amazing for grinding and getting your linnen AND wool (both drop about the same amount) up then this is your first spot.. Once you hit 18 or 19.. (i didnt go till 20 so be careful at lower lvls)… head over towards the Undead City.. take the road that goes along the left side heading south into [Silverpine Forrest]… once you get there just take the road south… and keep going… you are going to go all the way till you are about to get into [Hillsbrad]..

Becareful if you are 18-19-20 lvl… along this road walk a 19 & a 20l guy… they walk with each other.. 1 is usually wizzard (lvl 20) and the other warrior (19)… and they aggro nicely…

now once you get up the road near Hillsbrad you will see that there are 2 roads that come together… if you didnt notice.. right before this.. there is a little tent and a BUNCH of guys walking around off to the left… its slaughter time… they are spread out enough where (as a mage) i could pretty much not aggro anyone… i STRONGLY suggest not going after the guys in the left side of the tent.. there are usually 3 wizzards there.. you might see 2.. but there is a 3rd one that is hiding behind the wagon.. just dont mess with them.. specially lower lvls…

here is a screenshot…

http://www.redutopia.com/black.php?image=10045

i suggest.. anytime you get 2 mages on you.. just run them out.. they have short follow distances…

i estimate about 1/3 drop either wool or linnen (and usually in a 2x stack)…. you will get on avg about 30 copper a kill.. and not get many green items.. i think i found like 10 in 3 hours or so i was there….

i would stay here till lvl 22 or maybe 23… i was gettign 80-105 exp per kill at 22 (80 for lvl 18's 105 for lvl 20's)… and i could run though them pretty dang fast at lvl 21-22…

—————————————————————-
[Grind Area Level 22-25ish] [South Barrens]
http://www.redutopia.com/black.php?image=10044

while running south.. at the green/yellow x i put on that map.. get the first quest from this guy here (i know u are grinding.. but you are killing the guys he wants you to kill.. so you get 2K exp for grinding extra

ok now that you got the quest.. head on down to the red circle… its a little mining area on the left last the hill that gose up to the hold. head on down… now.. u have to work your way ALL the way to the back…to kill a lvl 26 guy.. becare.. he is pretty hardcore… so just hangout and kill if u think u need to lvl up before you go after him…

if you are just killing guys…. this is your warning RIGHT HERE… BIG BOLD WARNING… these guys respawn REAL fast.. and they aggro from pretty long ranges sometimes.. so becareful.. if you fight your way to the back just killing for exp… watch your back.. makesur eyou dont get closed in by like 8 guys all around you getting ready to aggro.. that is just a HUGE waste of time… (its a long run from Camp T)

ok now taht you killed a lot of guys.. and you are lvl 23 or 24… go finish that quest at teh same guy if you havent already… now he will ask for 6 things of 3 differnt items… you get these from the guys up the hill at the keep/hold area… this is the blue area maked on the map….. go kill…. get the stuff.. go finish that quest (dame vguys yellow x) then he gives you dynomite.. run back to teh red area.. the first little tower you see.. on th etop is a plane.. run up to teh top.. and click on it.. blow it up.. go back for reward (ring!!) and exp…. then head back to teh Keep and grind your arse to 25ish….

————————————————————————————————
[Grind Area Level 22-25ish] [Stonetalon Mountains]
http://www.redutopia.com/black.php?image=10046

ok head on over to the Sun Rock Retreat (there is a fly path here so get it!!)

get the quest to kill blood stone harpes and slayers and somthings elses… (get it from teh guy to the right of the in when you walk into the city (i think he is a tauren)…

now head over the bridge and out the back way (red line on map) to the Charred Valley….

kill… dont be dumb.. there are LOTS AND LOTS of mobs here.. they go insane.. and chase you… their aggro area seems HUGE!!! so dont be dumb.. just kill everything.. to get to teh guys you need to… lvl up here a long time.. it worth it.. decent drops.. TONS of guys….

(sorry it kinda got weak at the end..i just got to this area and so i am still exploring it.. and trying to find the ins and outs of it…)

Main Assist - A Basic Guide (World of Warcraft pictures)

What is Assist?

There is a command /assist in this game, it's shortcut key is "F", and it lets you select the target of your target.

For example: if friend A is attacking mob B, you can target friend A and press F, then u get mob B as your target.

So, Assist is when you target the same mob as the person you are assisting.

Why Assist?

To assist is to gain efficiency and viability.

If you're in a battle with multiple mobs, it is logical to try to bring down the mobs one by one. In group work, to concentrate your firepower is very important. Instead of every party member tries to solo her/his mob, you will want to concentrate your firepower on one mob first, then move on to the next one when the previous one is dead. By assisting, you are killing mobs faster and therefore reducing overall damage taken.

Asssist allows also the tanks to hold aggro on the other targets which are not being attacked easier. And making the healers jobs easier as they now can concentrate on the tanks.

Assisting should be used in almost all kinds of groups. Even in a 2-man group, when you face more then one mob, the idea of assisting is still valid: you take down one mob as fast as possible, thus reduce the damage done to the group in general; in cases mobs can run, instead of two runners at the same time, you have only one runner to deal with. Even in a raid like in Strathomle, you can still assist the MA on the elites while the mages are AoEing the non-elites.

What is Main Assist (MA)?

So, who will then decide which of those mobs we should kill first and in what sequence we should kill them? More experienced players will designate a Main Assist in group works. A Main Assist (MA) will decide the target of the group.

All a Main Assist (MA) does is target your groups target. If we say a group leader is the general of a group, a MA is the true director during a fight, and MA is the most hard roll to play imo.

Example: Mob A and his buddies mob B and mob C are attacking your group, and they all look alike and stick close to each other. Mmm… what is the first target now? Wait, Bob is our MA, by selecting Bob and press F, you get Bob's target. Mob A dies fast; then Bob choose mob B, you choose Bob and press F, then start to attack mob B; Mob B dies, Bob choose mob C ….. And you know that Bob usually pick up the Main Tank's first target as his very first target.

What does an Assist macro do?

Assist macro is the way to gain nicety, so during a messy fight, you will be sure that you do choose the right target.

When the group is formed, Bob is designated as Main Assist. Each group member creates a macro as follows:
1. Press <esc>
2. Choose ‘Macros’
3. Choose name and button image
4. Edit macro text to read ‘/assist Bob’
5. Save and close

The macro can then be assigned in the key-bindings menu to ‘F’, or dragged to the toolbar as a button.

So during the fight, you do not need to select Bob to get the mob. Pressing ‘F’ or clicking the macro button is enough.

Which class or who can be a better Main Assist?

Preferably one that can take a few hits; one that does not switch target often; one who is more experienced; one that is quick-minded but still stubborn as hell and won't change target until the chosen mob us dead.

Rogues might be the best assist class. The rogue *won't* be changing targets much (otherwise he wastes combo points). They have also skill to use if they steal too much aggro from the MT.

Paladins aren't best choice if they have to stop to heal the others sometimes. But they are great to take damage. So if there is more than 1 or 2 pallies in your group/raid, why not a pally.

A hunter can also be a very good assist, as they have a better overview of the fight, and the big hunter’s mark which can make the target clear. Provided: the hunter has no duty to get aggro off the mobs on the priest, or whatever can make them change target during the targeted fight; And, he should never try to steal aggro from the MT, as it involves too much moving between the fighting spot and the hunter. That is why I think close range melee class is better then casters.

A warriors can only be the MA if he does not MT or OT (’Off-Tank‘). A warrior has the skill to grab aggro on more than one mob, which is better used when they switch targets constantly in order to hold aggro, for example when adds comes and the OT needs to react. So, the warrior is not normally considered the MA (Main Assist) because of his possible multiple targets. Because warriors can take a lot of punishment they may engage two or three mobs at the same time, they will switch targets to gain agro if the raid or group lacks crowd control, thus tanking 2 maybe 3 mobs at a time. In a group where there is one warrior, he will usually be the MT. In a group where there are 2 or more warriors, the non MT warrior(s) still need to change target (eg to run to the priest the get the aggro off him, or aggro any add or lose mobs in situations when MT can’t react much).

Other caster classes or healing classes are not good to be a MA in a full 5-man group or raid. A Mage might need to re-sheep the sheeped mob, so he needs to change target during a fight and is not suitable to be MA, for example. But in 2-3 man grinding parties, even a preist can be the main assist: a ShadowWord:Pain is a very nice icon for the others to know which mob is the main target, works as well as a hunter's mark.

Why your Main Tank shouldn't be the Main Assist?

Provided your MT (Main Tank) has the skills to grab multiple aggro, the MT and the MA should always be 2 different people. This is because the MT will never be targeting the same mob all the time. He will need to constantly rotate between each of the mobs on him to keep building threat on each of them. If he sits there attacking the one mob that everyone else is attacking then as soon as a heal is cast every other mob will run straight at your priest.

To know this about the MT is important. This way the MT wont have his party complaining that you keep switching target and they don't know who to attack. What they need to do is to assist the MA, not the MT.

But this is not set in stone. Different groups will have you assisting in different ways. Some groups will make the main tank the focus of the assist macro, others will have a separate "main assist" character. Bottom line - You will need an assist macro. (credit: Zarek)

But how can I do an Assist macro or whatever?

Quick and dirty option:
Target the designated main assist and press F.

Better option:
Create a macro (see ‘What does a Assist macro do?’):
/assist Bob

You will replace "Bob" with the name of the designated character everyone is assisting. Then you will create a macro, and a button to use the macro. What this does is to cause your target to be the mob which the character has targeted. So if everyone uses the assist macro, everyone will be attacking the same mob. You may need to click the button several times. And you'll need to click it again after each mob dies.

At the start of a run, type "/macro" and change "Bob" to the name of the designated assist. All you need do now is to hotkey the assist macro, or drag the icon to your taskbar, and you're set.

Super option:

Get the add-on called Assist Helper.

AssistHelper makes assigning main assist and using assist effectively a lot easier. It allows you to bind a number of special functions, one of which is a key to select who you will be assisting (I use ALT-F) and another is to assist the character you have defined with the other key (I use F for this).

This saves having to edit the macro above every time your in a group and want to assist a different character than the previous day. This still leaves the original assist functionality (the F key) as it was before as long as you don't use the same key binding for one of the new abilities.

You can download Assist Helper from here: ]http://www.curse-gaming.com/mod.php?addid=227&page=2#comment

How to be a good Main Assist

Knows your MT. A MA needs to work closely to MT. MA needs to know the MT's first target, as it is the one MT has most aggro on. Trust the tank is doing his job and will take care of the adds so you don't run to them.

Set your assist macro to your MT. Dont break the sheep/cc before your MT.

A Main Assist is NOT a tank, try not to steal too much aggro from your MT.

Be quick. Target fast and target right.

Be stubborn. Stick to one target until it is dead.

Always kill the softest targets first and the hardest targets last. The softest targets usually have the highest DPS and utility (mages, etc.) and are easiest to kill. The next softest targets are healer types and then come the ranged guys and lastly the melee folk. When fighting bosses, it is usually best to kill their henchmen first then focus on the boss - these are cases when MA do not attack the MT's first target.

What you need to know to assist the Main Assist

After the fight has started and the MT has grabbed agro on the mob, everyone who is NOT the Tank should assist the Main Assist. The biggest novice mistake anyone makes is to abandon the Main Assist and start duelling with non-agro’d mobs. Grouping is not about seeing how many mobs you can fight at once. It’s about being fast, efficient, and safe. Target the mob that your main assist is attacking, and help him kill it as quickly as possible.

If the MA has not yet selected a target yet, keep /assisting him until he does. He is most likely allowing the MT time to build aggro.

After /assisting, it is worth checking the de-duff icons of the new target. If the target shows a sheep, sap, shackle or sleep de-buff, hold fire. The MA may have been tabbing through the targets to find the next one. /assist again, until the MA has selected a good target.

The Healers should look out for the Main-Assists health a bit as well.

Complains a Main Assist or everyone might get:

You are not targeting fast enough;
You have no target;
You change target too often;
You are eating popcons during a fight or talking to your wife which TV program you are gonna to watch later.

Main Assist is a culture

Using MA tactic well is a question of habit. It needs a lot practice. It is more realistic to try it among guildies or ppl you often group with. MA is a culture or tradition in a guild. No matter what, the /assist command will for sure open a new window to the game.

Demonic Rune: http://wow.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?witem=12662]<a href="http://wow.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?witem=12662" target="_blank">http://wow.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?witem=12662</a>
Restore 900-1500 Mana at the cost of 600-1000 Life. Runes are saviours! A very good mana boost on a seperate cooldown to mana potions. Must be used at caution when at low hp, however in BWL we should next to never be at low HP. Runes have the chance to crit, double mana return at double the life cost. Also an excellent boost. The trade off is next to un noticed. 900 Mana for 600 life can be renewed on you very easily. These are easily farmed in Felwood from Satyrs at either camp.
(2 Minute Cooldown as of 1.11)

Dark Rune: http://wow.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?witem=20520
Restore 900-1500 Mana at the cost of 600-1000 Life. Runes are saviours! A very good mana boost on a seperate cooldown to mana potions. Must be used at caution when at low hp, however in BWL we should next to never be at low HP. Runes have the chance to crit, double mana return at double the life cost. Also an excellent boost. The trade off is next

to un noticed. 900 Mana for 600 life can be renewed on you very easily. Dark Runes drop in Scholomance, which can be farmed. If a PUG is looking for a healer, give up your time and strike a bargain you will go on the condition all runes are yours.
(2 Minute Cooldown as of 1.11)

Night Dragon's Breath: http://wow.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?witem=11952
Restores 394-456 mana AND 394-456 Life. Night Dragons can be farmed very easily from Felwood.
Requires:Cenarion Beaconhttp://wow.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?witem=11511 - Explanation below.
(2 Minute Cooldown as of 1.11)

Character and Weapon Buff Consumables

Minor Mana Oil: http://wow.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?witem=20745
When applied to weapon restores 4 mana every 5 seconds. Each batch created contains 5 charges. Effects last 30 minutes.
Requires; Enchanting: 3x Soul Dust, 2x Maple Seed, 1x Leaded Vial.

Lesser Mana Oil: http://wow.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?witem=20747
When applied to weapon restores 8 mana every 5 seconds. Each batch created contains 5 charges. Effects last 30 minutes.
Enchanting: 3x Dream Dust, 2x Purple Lotus, 1x Crystal Vial

Brilliant Mana Oil: http://wow.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?witem=20748
When applied to weapon restores 12 mana every 5 seconds. Each batch created contains 5 charges. Effects last 30 minutes.
Enchanting: 2x Large Brilliant Shard, 3x Purple Lotus, 1x Imbued Vial

Sagefish Delight: http://wow.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?witem=21217
Requires cooking. Caster must remain seated for at least 10 seconds while consuming this item, after which he will receive the "well fed" buff, and be greanted 6 mana every 5

seconds. Effects last 15 minutes.
Cooking: 1x Raw Greater Sagefish, 1x Hot Spices

Nightfin Soup: http://wow.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?witem=13931
Requires cooking, Caster must remain seated for at least 10 seconds while consuming this item, after which he will receive the "well fed" buff and be granted 8 mana every 5

seconds. Effects last 10 minutes.
Cooking: 1x Raw Nightfin Snapper, 1x Refreshing Spring Water

Gathering Night Dragon's Breath
There are 4 Plants scattered around Felwood, each with a 25 minute cooldown before they can be farmed again. Each farm per plant will give you 4-7 Night Dragons. In my opinion, 2000-3500 mana restoration for free is something that cannot be missed. However, plants will Despawn from time to time, and if not cleansed, must be cleansed before

farming commences.
See: Cleansing Felwood http://wow.allakhazam.com/db/quest.html?wquest=4102 , for information on obtaining your Cenarion Beacon - http://wow.allakhazam.com/db/item.

html?witem=11511
This works in the similar fashion to the Argent Dawn commisions. Upon collecting the various hand in's, you can return them in exchange for plant salves. These will cleanse the

Night Dragons for you. The great thing about farming these hand in's is they fall from all mobs in felwood.
This is great if you are also farming Demonic Rune; http://wow.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?witem=12662
To make the farming of Night Dragon's even easier, I suggest you download Felwood Gatherer:
http://www.curse-gaming.com/en/wow/addons-2446-1-felwoodgather.htm
This displays your cooldowns, and alerts you at 5 minute and 1 minute Intervals when the plants will spawn. You must farm the plant to begin a succesful countdown.

The Test Of Righteousness (World of Warcraft cd)

The Test of Righteousness

I have recently completed the level 20 paladin quest and have a few tips to share. One of these is a big time saver if you have a main on the same server as your paladin. This is the quest you pick up that begins the chain ( http://www.thottbot.com/?qu=1653 ) and ultimately earns you Verigan's Fist ( http://www.thottbot.com/?i=4190 ). The first part of the quest has you recue a woman under attack by defias thugs. This part is easy if you have a couple of people with you (tip: it is right near the exit from Deadmines - find some dungeon goers to help you for two minutes).

The next part has you go to a quest mob outside of Ironforge, who then asks you for 4 items. The first two are easily obtainable, the other two are a little harder.
1) Go into deadmines and kill a goblin woodworker to get the whitestone oak lumber. This is fairly straightforward.

2) To get the ore, go to the quest mob in the tailor's house in thelsamar, loch modan. He will send you to the ogre camp (northeast loch modan). The crate is out in the open about halfway into the camp. You don't need to kill more than about 4 ogres to get it.

Now the harder bits. There is unavoidably a lot of running at this point, but here are some timesavers.

3) Run to Menethil Harbour, Wetlands. Get the flightpath and then hop onto a boat to Auberdine. Here you will find a quest mob in a building to the north of the inn. Set the inn as your hearth location, then get the quest to return a Kor gem. Get the flightpath and then run south into Astranaar. Once you enter Astranaar you will see a mountain line on your west. Once you are past it go west to the coast and then north and you will reach Blackfathom Deeps. You will find a corrupted kor gem on a blackfathom naga (i only had to kill one just inside the cave to get it). Hearth back to Auberdine and hand in the quest to receive the purified kor gem.

4) Get back on the boat to wetlands, set Menethil Harbour as your hearth location, and get ready to do some more running. To me, this was the most annoying part of the quest. You need to go north into Arathi Highlands (get the flightpath there), then west into Hillsbrad Foothills. Grab the flightpath in Southshore and continue west into Silverpine. This is horde territory. The path is reasonably safe since there are dalaran alliance-friendly mobs the whole way and Silverpine mainly has horde players up to about the same level as you are.

Follow the signs to Shadowfang Keep. In my case i logged out right outside the instance and came back with my main, a 56 priest. The item you need is a hammer in the stables at the far end of the courtyard. To get there you fight through to a small cell block and free a mage who then unlocks the door to the courtyard. Clear everything up to the stables and your pally has a clear run to get the hammer. Invite a friend, who does not need to enter the instance, to join your group (i made mine leader) and then logout. Login as your pally, join the same group and go in and the instance will be right how you left it. Of course you could just do this dungeon with a group of people, but i would guess that it is tough to find people who want to trek all that way for a dungeon the level equivalent of Deadmines.

Leave the group and after 60 seconds you will get a free hearth back to Wetlands, where you can hop on a gryphon back to Ironforge. At this point you hand in the quest at Ironforge and Verigan's Fist is yours. In case you're wondering how long you will use it, in my own case it was replaced with a level 30 blue (Viscous Hammer - http://www.thottbot.com/?n=688759)

I hope this is some help to anyone who has a low level paladin, or who is considering starting one.

PvE Warrior Solo Template (Warcraft 3 download)

This paragraph is the exact same text for all my solo and group PvE templates, so after you read this once you can just skip it for other classes. These are my templates for what I consider the best viable templates for PvE purposes ONLY. A solo template is assuming that you never plan on grouping. A group template assumes that you are in a group 100% of the time, such as end game instances. I have also been asked to provide info on what skills should be taken at which levels, this is really difficult as it would depend on exact individual play styles. However, I put a number in parenthesis before each skill, this number is the level that I would take the skill at, of course this is extremely prejudiced because it is based on my own play style. Of course if you think you have a better template please share it with us.

Warrior solo PvE(this is a 2H template do not try this with 1H/Shield)

Goose's Golden Egg(coin Strat) (Warcraft professions)

And the wow gods came down from the Heavens and slapped goose and said “let there be coin”

This strat is not mine, this was showed to me by another player in-game. After showing me the strat, (he has others as well, I believe for shards) I paypal’ed him the money to join MPS, and he became a member. I had tested this for the last 2 weeks, and stayed in commo with him, and then ??? The credit goes to him if I can ever find him again, he was a little hesitant about me printing this on MPS, but with the dupe exploit released, I do not see the point now.

The good:

1. You cannot get banned for doing this.
2. There is no 3rd party apps needed, this will work on a normal retail wow.
3. FROM MY EXPERIENCE, the minimum you make an hour is about 60g, the normal is around 100g, and if you get really lucky,(this happened to me a few times) about 200g an hour.

The Bad:

1. You must be a Rogue, preferably level 60.
2. You must have a very high Lock pick skill, preferably 300.(280 is bare minimum and that was not tested)
3. You need “Ninja Agro Avoidance” skills or you are going to get your ass handed to you.
4. If there are any kind of server or Instance problems you get screwed.(the best time to do this is on the “off hours” and on week days)
5. This is my first coin strat, if I see this C&P’ed anywhere I am going to be real pissy. Don’t even try to eBay this, already being done.(not by me, although if I was not a writer for MPS it would be by me LOFL)

How to make even more coin with this strat:

1. Get +speed on boots.
2. Set all your talents for this strat, max stealth, max speed stealthed, Insta cooldown rogue skills etc…
3. Sprint often…
4. Have a friend or second account to make resetting the instance take less then 30 secs and 20 secs of this is your log out time.

The Strat: The SS’s have a lot of edits in them to help players understand, what to do, and may be a little sloppy, as I am not an artist, and very pressed for time, also I edited the Screenshots so they cannot be stolen, LOL, I was going to FRAPS the whole thing so you could see in Full Motion Video but how the hell I would get it to you I have no idea, would be a lot of bandwidth and kind of expensive, resource wise. Also please rip the pics and save them to your hard drive.

Go to Black Rock Spire and enter instance, follow the white line and go thru the doorway to the right:

http://img31.imageshack.us/img31/7395/startedit0kw.jpg

Hop down and cut thru the left doorway, there will be 2 roving guards in the tiny hallway, just ninja around them.

http://img177.imageshack.us/img177/7551/beforehalledit1sj.jpg

When you come out of the doorway look to your right and walk to the edge. The box with the white edit around it is your primary target, this box only spawns about 50% of the time. If the chest is not there, still continue and check for Bannok, (see below) if Bannok is not there, then reset instance now. Don’t worry if you do not see the chest there 4 or 5 times in a row, this is just averages and sometimes you will see it there 4-5 times in a row. Now hug the wall and jump down to a ledge, go straight, then jump down to the other ledge, turn left and go to edge but DO NOT jump off.

http://img104.imageshack.us/img104/4449/seechest9ti.jpg

Now you need to set a targeting macro, “/target bannok” this is an elite mob that ALWAYS drops a blue,(vendor trash as it BOP and none of the items are for Rogues) and sometimes drops the BP for the Arcanite Reaper which I normally sell for 250g with a 300g buyout. At one point I had 3 of these so I lowered the price a little to get rid of the extras. He is a very weak 59 elite, easy for a Rogue, just DO NOT GET agro or you are toast. Bannok is very rare spawn, I would guess 1 out of 30-50 runs, so just keep your eyes open. If Bannok is not there you will normally target a rat. If Bannok is not here and chest did not spawn then reset instance now. If chest did spawn then follow white line, yes it is a big jump down and you get no damage as a Rogue, and please do not jump on top of the mobs down there LOFL!!!

Note:

Bannok ONLY spawns at 3 places, “1” and “2” are both in huts and are marked with edits. The third place is at the end of the little horde city to the left, you will have to pull him with a gun or bow to avoid agro if he is at location 3. You can pull Bannok thru other agro WITHOUT getting the additional agro, they are “different family” mobs.

http://img305.imageshack.us/img305/9978/ledge4lp.jpg

Continue and follow white line, avoiding agro:

http://img305.imageshack.us/img305/2333/beforespid4xc.jpg

Side Note… Cry… Death in here is extremely painful and time consuming, 90% of your deaths will be from the spiders… general rule of thumb if your stealth is maxed: “as long as one of their legs do not touch you, you are fine”

WTF, I died… sigh…

http://img204.imageshack.us/img204/2352/golddeathfirst8rp.jpg

and the killer walk back…

http://img204.imageshack.us/img204/4453/golddeath6wv.jpg

at the top you must use your agro skills here….(go thru Indiana Jones door at end of white line)

http://img292.imageshack.us/img292/4406/damnspiders7ai.jpg

follow white line…

http://img292.imageshack.us/img292/4871/longhall8lw.jpg

That Fat Ogre roams from the chest to his current position and back either hit the chest when he is roaming or… (YOU MUST HUG WALL when opening chest or you will get agro)

http://img127.imageshack.us/img127/9599/chestbefore6ub.jpg

Sap his ass and open chest. Note sapping him will put you “in combat” after you loot chest you can whack him once and jump off edge and give him 15 seconds to exit combat mode, OR waste a vanish to exit combat mode. Ledge you need to go too is behind you, when you open chest. (You were on the ledge before…) Another 16 slot container??? But I already have 4…. :)

http://img127.imageshack.us/img127/3333/chest0ac.jpg

Enjoy the Phat loot… Oh my, not another Mooncloth recipe.. What am I going to do with all the coin from the AH???

http://img127.imageshack.us/img127/8040/resetinstance1ol.jpg

If you “burn” this strat, it should take you no longer then 45 seconds to see if chest or Bannok is in the instance. If the chest is there it takes no longer then 2 minutes.

P.S. TO INSTANTLY RESET ANY INSTANCE, WHEN YOU ARE DONE WITH THE INSTANCE DO THIS:

1. INVITE SOMEONE TO JOIN GROUP.
2. LEAVE GROUP.
3. LOG OUT.
4. LOG IN AND YOU WILL BE AT THE BEGINING OF THE NEW INSTANCE.

The Darkmoon Faire And You–money Or Epic Necklace (WoW server status)

His strategy revolves around the fair. Besides the trinkets though, there are a few juicy items you can get from the faire for turning stuff that appears to be low or no value to the uneducated. Either you are one wanting the neckalce or you are one wanting to exploit, er cash in on those wanting the necklace so here is what you need to know.

First goto goblin workshop and read their post on the Faire http://www.goblinworkshop.com/darkmoon-faire.html

Now that you have gone, looked at the items and wiped the drool from you keyboard here are tips on how to get the tickets:

You need 1200 tickets to get the epic neck piece from the fair.

Rumor is that you'll need to turn in your deck AFTER you get your neck piece or it messes up the faction earning, slowing you down but if you want your trinket then turn it in.

1) If you farm 130 Vibrant Plumes, it will earn you 312 Darkmoon tickets, 25% of the way towards your necklace. Harpies in Northern Ferales and inside Alterac Valley (the alliance Cave) drop these pretty well. After you turn in this many you can't turn in more so don't bother getting 500 to skip the next part–it wont work.

(MONEY HINT: Put these on the Auction House then in trade chat say "Working on Darkmoon Faire faction? Vibrant Plumes for sale on AH" Otherwise people don't look for it.)

2) You next need to hunt or have a skill that the darkmoon faire is interested in: Blacksmithing, Engineering, Leatherworking, or "I'm sorry you choose Herb/Alchemy go kill hundreds of spawns."

For the next 900 tickets, you'll need 10 bat eyes (Eastern Plaguelands), 10 glowing scorpid blood (Silithus), 6 thorium widgets (engineer and the recipe sells from guy in Orgimar for horde), 8 dense grinding stones (blacksmith) or 8 rugged armor kits for each batch of 20 tickets.

To turn in the widgets, stones, or kits you must be an engineer, blacksmith, or leatherworker. So if you didn't choose one of these professions then find a guide on how to level to 300 in one of them (I think engineering is the way to go myself) and reset a skill or start killing.

http://www.xs4all.nl/%7Ebrt/wow/guides/skillupenchanting.html (Go to this link then choose the guide from the right that you need).

Well how many of each do you need?
450 Evil Bat eyes or Glowing Scorpid Blood
810 Thorium Widgets
1600 Dense Stone
1600 Rugged Leather

Okay lets say you've done the math and you don't want the necklace. Wonderful–exploit instead. No one is gonna wanna make ALL of this stuff him/herself so you have a chance to put the ingredients or end items on the AH for some nice cash.

Watch the calendar and mark up your items (or ingredients) when the fair is coming round (may 10/11) and then advertise in trade window–faire is here, get your ticket loot in the AH!

Good luck with whichever route you choose.
