PVPing With Your Priest (Warcraft demo)

Taking your Priest into PvP:

Quite a few players will spec Shadow for the DPS/kills, however I have found it a lot more enjoyable to go Holy, not to mention that a Holy specced Priest is a far more valuable asset to a party then a Shadow Priest. If you want to power level a priest through the PvP ranks, then you will be forced to go Shadow. However this guide is for a Holy/Disc Priest, the more difficult, but more rewarding PvP path. When you are not healing and have Mana to play with always cast a Mind Blast or SWP when you can afford it. Never sit in a battle with full mana waiting to heal.

Overhealing, this is a common mistake of pure healers, to actually throw more healing at a player then what he/she really needs. A general rule of thumb that I use (As a heal spec Priest) is a simple 2 button combo and evaluate if further healing is needed, and that is: an instant cast Renew, and a cast of Flash Heal. This 2 button combo will work on every class but a Warrior. (Give a warrior an extra Flash Heal, and spam it if necessary) As a Holy Priest you have better heals and a better chance to crit on a heal, this is normally why Priests “over-heal”. Don’t worry, in time you will know exactly how much you need and when.

Who to heal? Who do I heal first, how do I prioritize? Another Noob mistake is for a healer to heal a caster with no mana, wtf? (Ohhh wand use FTW? I don’t think so) Think of it this way, which will do the most DPS? Is there another healer getting waxed? Here is a general priority list:

1. Healer with Mana/Priest. A Druid should bear morph if he/she gets a ton of agro, and a Pally should bubble, so kind of watch out for other Priests.
2. Mage with Mana
3. Warrior with less then 25% HP left.
4. Shaman with Mana in melee. If the Shaman is not near melee peeps, he should be healing himself.
5. Rogue
6. Hunter
7. Warrior with 50% of HP left.
8. Warlock - Warlocks have a wide array of survivability tools from healing to Demon spec, so here healing will not be needed in the majority of cases.
9. Druid – A druid with little mana can morph, so give them the heal, hoping they know how to play their class.
10. Warrior with 75% of HP left.
11. Pally – Pally is last because they are always the last to die, (Even without a healer) they can bubble and heal themselves, so your services are really not needed, unless they are out of mana.

Keep in mind this is just a general list, of course there will always be other things to consider. How a class is spec’d makes a huge difference. Heal a Rest specced Druid and you will probably embarrass yourself, however healing a Druid that is specced heavy in Balance(and in Moonkin form) and you will be worshipped. Unless there are no other targets, NEVER heal a caster that is OOM, it would be much better for them to die and come back with full Mana/HP in 30 to 60 secs. Another thing to keep in mind is Dispel Magic, if you are healing someone always take half a second and look at the Debuffs, if there is any, cast DM after your Renew and Flash Heal.

Alterac Valley:
You will have a few choices to make before you start PvP’ing here. Level 51-60 can go to AV, and generally the lower the level the faster they are going to die, which means they need healed more then the 60’s. I will not waste mana on a non-60 if I can help it, my opinion is that you should not be in the end game PvP BG’s until you are 60, as you do nothing but “gimp” your side. But wait, it is your account and you can go to AV as a 51 if you want? Sure, but I am not going to waste my mana healing your ass :)

Drop the BOMB. Anytime you see your front line in a stalemate, and you have plenty of mana, go ahead and fear bomb. Buff up, shield, and run straight into the front line, AOE fear, Renew, and run back into your rear area again, with your finger on the DM button. As long as your healing duties are going fine, you can do this every 30 seconds.

MC – Mind Control in AV can be useful and hilarious. If you are going to run them into Korrack, or their guards, always use the best target you can. MC’ing a caster with no mana is a waste, MC’ing a Warrior/Pally with full HP into Korrack is very helpful. Just remember they will kill you when the MC wears off. Another way to really help is to MC an enemy and run them straight thru your line into the back, release the MC and watch him die in 2-3 secs. This is a double edged sword however, because if you are around a lot of nubs, then they will grief you for “bringing them dinner” instead understanding why you brought a solo target in the middle of 5-6 mages ?

Defending a Flag/Bunker – If you know me you know I don’t “defend”, however if you find yourself in this situation always hit a target that is capping the flag. If it is desperate and you got 10 enemies on the flag then fear bomb it on a suicide run.

Taking a Flag/Bunker – This is where your healing comes into a “power play”, I know the flag is right in front of you, but don’t cap it.(Unless solo) The person that is trying to cap will be the prime target of anyone, keep them healed and DM any effects. If someone is close to capping and you have an enemy incoming, charge them and fear them. (Or MC, but only MC if there is only 1 enemy target)

How to take a flag from the guards and an enemy defender with just you and 1 other person?
MC the enemy, run him into the guards, when he dies the guards will all come for you, and your partner caps the flag ? Remember to keep the distance between you and the guards at all times, this should not be too hard with a little experience.

WSG:
You have a spell called “Mind Vision”, this will allow you to see where your flag is anytime you want. You just need to mentally note the name of the enemy that has your flag, cast MV on him/her (Use a target macro if you wish) and WHAM you have your flag loc. Remember the name of the game here: “Capture 3 flags to win”, what they do not tell you is “Fighting in the middle is retarded”. So always defend your flag, attack the enemy flag, or run escort, and as a Priest you should be running escort.
Something to remember when running escort is that it is NOT your job to heal others, always keep your attention on the flag carrier. If the flag carrier is full health and doing fine, then you can throw a heal to someone else. Do not forget DM here, as your flag carrier will be under all kinds of Debuffs! If things get overwhelming, run to the flag carrier and fear bomb. If the flag carrier is running way ahead of you, target the closest enemy (Probably mounted trying to catch the flag) and MC him/her.

Defending the Flag: Yeah you can do this, but unless you have 4+ Priests on your side (I have seen this) leave this chore to someone else. This is almost the same as carrying the flag, let someone else do this.

MC’ing the Flag carrier? I have seen this done effectively, but only in organized groups. Basically when there is a ton of escorts on the flag carrier, an enemy Priest will MC the flag carrier and run them in the opposite direction of their base. This gives your side a lot more time to bring down the carrier or the escorting healers. Do not try this in a pug though, and never MC a solo enemy carrier with 5 of your teammates on him/her ?

AB:
The best place for you to be in AB is defending the Lumber Mill flag. Anyone that comes along just gets MC’ed off the cliff. As a Holy Priest you should never be soloing here, run with a partner or group and always hang in the back. Since you will mostly fight in small groups here I am going to encourage suicide. When you die you really help your party out by helping them with a massive heal. If you are assaulting a flag and the numbers are about even go ahead and “heal out” your team, when you are out of mana, suicide. The best way to suicide is to run into a Mage, or grab the attention of an enemy Warrior. As in other BG’s remember the strats on the flag, heal the capper and fear bomb if it gets overwhelming.

Old Ironforge! (Warcraft keygen)

So, who wants to go to Old Ironforge? i just sent a group over yesterday, and it was well worth it, too. In order to get over, you need a warlock that can summon and a mage. The other three people can be any class. However, everyone must be level 60 and have thier epic mounts. Sorry.

First, go to the bank and face it. Jump up on the right column and go behind it and have all of the people in your group do the same. You need to start a duel. It may say 'You cannot duel here'. If it does, then just move around back there, and both who you are going to duel and you try to start the duel, its easier that way. You must duel the mage, you'll see why later on. Once the duel is started, get on your mount and ride through either the left or the righ passageways and go to the chamber with the King of Ironforge. Make sure you run to the very back of the room, or the duel will end. If it does, just start over.

Once you are in the back of the throne room, run up to ste spot where the ramp meets the platform to the left or right of you, depending which way you went. Now, from the king's point of view, you need to go to the right door in his chamber. The doors have large locks on them and are right next to the exit of the throne room. Now, run up aganst the door, get yourself in the center of the door, and try to run in place. Have the mage polymorph you (Polymorph: Pig will not work for this, must be sheep).

Hopefully, you will have crossed over into a hallway. do not move. turn around until you see a passageway, then walk straight. This may take some time to do, but it is do-able. Do the same for the other party members, and once there are 3 people, including the warlock, are over, have them summon you and the remaining party member. Have a nice time in Old Ironforge!

If you want to see old Ironforge but dont feel like going over, i took some pictures :D

Anything doesent work or any problems, please post on here telling what went wrong and ill try to post back with a soloution.

Have fun!

Paladin Guide (World of Warcraft serenity now)

I posted this as a reply elsewhere, but thought more people wouldm ake use of it here. So here it is:

When when you're grinding you want to head up the retribution tree, to max out your dps. So you wanna head for SoC, then up vindication eye for an eye, etc etc. However the retribution build is next to useless end game (in my opinion), As it does not help the paladin in it's princible ability (survivability). Anyway below is the first template, for grinding to 60 - and then below it there is an end game build.

Grinding build:

Retribution:

10-11-12-13-14: Improved Blessing of Might Rank 5/5 (This is your first step toward greater dps).
15-16-17-18-19: Benediction Rank 5/5 (Whilst not useful at these levels it brings you closer to the grinding essential Seal of Command.)
20: Seal of Command Rank 1/1 (/cheer).
26-27-28-29-30: Conviction Rank 5/5 (More crits = more dps).
31-32-33: Vindication Rank 3/3 (Potentially reducing the ammount of damage you take, thus decreasing downtime)
34-35: Eye for an Eye, Rank 2/2 OR Pursuit of Justice Rank 2/2 (Neither are that useful but are good point fillers).
36-37-38: 2 Handed Weapon Specialisation Rank 3/3 (Again allows for higher damage, great crit chance, etc).
39: Santicity Aura, (Bit more dps).
40-41-42-43-44: Vengeance Rank 5/5 (Again dps increase).
45: Repentance Rank 1/1 (Not that useful for grinding, but cant hurt if you need an emergency heal).

Protection:

46-47-48-49-50: Improved Devotion Aura Rank 5/5 (Less damage taken = less down time).
51-52-53-54-55: Toughness Rank 5/5 (See above)

Holy:

21-22-23-24-25: Divine Strength Rank 5/5 (This adds to your attack power, thus increasing dps).
56-57-58-59-60: Useful for healing when taking a beating.

When you hit 60 immediately respec if you want to be vaguely respectable in pve. Paladin is about survivability, and support healing (and primarily cleansing). Retribution helps you with none of these. The following 2 are 2 reasonable templates for end game raiding.

Template 1:

Holy Talents - 31 points

Divine Intellect - rank 5/5
Spiritual Focus - rank 5/5
Healing Light - rank 3/3
Unyielding Faith - rank 2/2
Illumination - rank 5/5
Improved Blessing of Wisdom - rank 2/2
Divine Favor - rank 1/1
Lasting Judgement - rank 3/3
Holy Power - rank 5/5

Protection Talents - 9 points

Improved Devotion Aura - rank 5/5
Toughness - rank 4/5

Retribution Talents - 11 points

Benediction - rank 5/5
Deflection - rank 5/5
Seal of Command - rank 1/1

Template 2:

Holy Talents - 15 points

Divine Intellect - rank 5/5
Spiritual Focus - rank 5/5
Healing Light - rank 3/3
Unyielding Faith - rank 2/2

Protection Talents - 25 points

Improved Devotion Aura - rank 5/5
Precision - rank 3/3
Guardian's Favor - rank 2/2
Toughness - rank 5/5
Blessing of Kings - rank 1/1
Improved Hammer of Justice - rank 3/3
Improved Concentration Aura - rank 1/3
Reckoning - rank 5/5

Retribution Talents - 11 points

Improved Blessing of Might - rank 5/5
Benediction - rank 5/5
Seal of Command - rank 1/1

A Diamond In The Rough. Jewel Crafters (World of Warcraft quest)

Burning Crusade is closing in. And there are still diamonds in the rough. Every day I see deals that I can not resist. Now a day’s I’m starting a new collection of normal Black Diamonds as there price has dropped 100 fold. Need to watch the auction on a daily basis for the best deals. For example, there was an all of a sudden drop on golden pearls. Normally they sell for 20-30g on my server. I found they were from 6-10 gold each for about 2 weeks. I took them all out of the flooded market, toping off at 35 golden pearls. The price has gone back up to 20-30g for more then a month now. Look for those good deals; we only have 3 months left to collect.

Here is a link to a picture of only my highest level gems.

Solo as a rogue for 200g per hour (Warcraft guide)

I have come to understand that this is not common knowledge to all rogues and I have yet to see it on any site upon performing multiple searches.

This can be soloed for about 200G per hour or done with 2 rogues for about 1000G.

I do this solo but in fairness I have exceptional gear. I'm sure it could be done with good blue gear. If you have problems with this, get a partner to help you. Frankly, as much money as this can make you, it wouldn't be a horrible crime to complely stock up on greater fire protection pots, elixir of mongoose, giant potions, etc. A death will cost you about 6 minutes and time is money.

You will also need improved sap. 100G worth of respeccing is a small price to pay for a weekend of making thousands.

On to the solo strategy:

In Lower Blackrock Spire you want to stealth to the right in the same manner as you would normally clear the dungeon. You'll come around to the left after dropping off the first ledge and work your way to two doors (one after the other) that are very close to each other and have roaming mobs going through them. After you pass the second door, stop. To your right you should see a ledge. Across from that ledge is another ledge where you will see a bunch of ogres. If you move towards that ledge and look down you will see a platform that you can jump onto. Jump to it. Now move forward and you will see another platform. Jump to it. Lastly you will jump to the ground floor where you will see several tents. When you jump down, fall, don't jump or it will break your stealth. Watch out for roaming mobs. You don't want to fall on them.

Continue on until you get to the hill where the spiders are. As soon as you reach this hill you will come to a nook on your right that most groups that do LBRS skip. In that nook you will see three groups of mobs. To the left are 3 mobs, to the right are 3 mobs and in the back right corner are 2 mobs. The two groups of 3 are not linked but all 6 will aggro if you pull one because the two groups are too close together.

Behold my brilliant artwork!: http://i65.photobucket.com/albums/h2…rrico/LBRS.jpg

What you want is one of the two mobs in the back. One of these mobs is a Blackrock Pyromancer. He is what you will want to kill, so sap the other guy and go up the little hill behind you. Ranged pull the pyromancer. Just before he gets in range hit evasion and kill him as quickly as possible. He will flee just before he dies, so crippling poison is your friend. You could use kidney shot just before he gets to 20% life but why waste it on a fleeing mob?

As soon as you kill him, loot him and vanish.

Duo Strategy

Kill the group in the back in the same manner but don't waste your vanish. Two rogues shouls make extremely short work of both mobs. Heal up, wait for your curses and such to fade and get ready for some big packs.

The problem with the next pull is that you have 6 mobs to deal with. If the two 'inside mobs' are both Pyromancers, dump this pull and reset. The only way you can continue is to reset, fight 4 elits at the same time or kill a couple, die and come back to an easier pull. In any other case, you want to sap 'inside mob1' or inside mob2'. If one of them is a pyromancer, don't sap it, sap the other one and have your partner sap one of the other mobs in sapped mob's group. See this diagram: http://s65.photobucket.com/albums/h2…o/th_LBRS2.jpg

Kill the unsapped pyromancer and vanish.

The duo strat is complicated. You will find that there are several configurations to deal with. I prefer to solo but I make a ton of money if I duo all of the mobs.

Your prize is this: http://www.thottbot.com/index.cgi?i=28217

It is one of the best robes that a mage can find if he doesn't raid and that is more than 99% of the mage population. Even raiding mages have bought these from me as gaining archanist or something similar isn't necessarily an overnight process for a new raider. The best part of this robe is that it's bind on pickup. The pattern is bind on use but the robe binds when you make it, so the crafter can only make it for himself.

Yes the downside is that the mage has to be a 300 tailor. I have sold this pattern to 100 people that picked up tailoring just to make this robe. Many dumped tailoring after making it.

These patterns sell for about 200 gold on my server. I've found and sold as many as 5 in a day.

Even better is this http://www.thottbot.com/index.cgi?i=16100

They sell for 300-400 gold on my server. They don't drop nearly as often as the robe pattern does but it's a nice payday when they do. I also find a ton of blues (shadowcraft, valor, etc). Those always sell pretty nicely.

My worst one hour session was about 70 gold. My best was 1000 gold (3 patterns, 1 fire recipie and 2 blues).

Again, if you're having trouble with the solo strat, get a partner. Two rogues in green gear can easily handle the solo strat.

Happy hunting!

1-60 in 2 weeks (World of Warcraft power leveling)

This is the method the power levelers have used since closed beta and I finally got one of them to give it up. It is by no means the way to go if you want to maximize your experience in the game as this method will bypass almost all the content in the game and essentially ignore many of the fun, unique aspects of wow. This is not recommended for new players and is meant for players who already have experienced the content and just want to level up an alt to play with their level 60 friends (ie. your level 60 instance group needs a priest and there are no priests to be had). As a benchmark to how successful you are with this, download cosmos and use the clock feature to measure your xp/hour. At level 50 you should be getting about 40,000+/hour.

1-20: Newbie lands, stick to the friendly zones (not contested). Just grind. The quests are a waste of time up to level 20 if you are focusing on maxing out xp per hour.

20-26: Wetlands quests and raptors/slime/orcs for grinding. Redridge mountain Lakeshire quests.

26-30: Duskwood quests and undead for grinding. Hillsbrad critter roamers for grinding.

30-35: Did these all in a day on Daggerspines in Hillsbrad right next to Southshore along the coast. Huge spawn, very fast respawn rate, easy mobs to kill. Purgation isle (island in the very far Southwest water area of Hillsbrad) also a nice secluded place you can grind on undead.

36-40: Hillsbrad southshore quests. Desolace quests and kodo grinding for 36-38, then Undead Ravagers in the southeast for 38-40. Cresting exiles at the circle of outer binding in Arathi also for 37-41; extremely easy mobs with a fast respawn. Alterac ogres from 35-40 for grinding. Drywhisker kobolds in Arathi east of Hammerfall for 36-39 for grinding.

41-45: Hinterlands trolls, owl beasts, and wolves for grinding and quests. Badlands ogres, gnolls, and quests.

45-48: Tanaris quests and pirates on the eastern paninsula for grinding. Stranglethorn vale quests (only if you need rewards imo). Badlands greater elementals for grinding.

48-52: Felwood deadwood gnolls for grinding and quests from the sanctuary in the south. Blasted lands dreadmauls for grinding. Un'goro crater (best started at 50) for primarily quests and grinding off the plants and tar elementals. Azshara undead highbornes and thunderhead hyppogriffs for grinding.

52-55: Azshara blood elves for grinding. Burning steppes dreadmaul rock ogre caves firegut ogres (very low AC) for grinding. Felwood irontree woods and cave for grinding (great spot). Western plaguelands questing for argent dawn and grinding on undead throughout the various camps.

55-58: Eastern plaguelands quests from the sanctuary, grinding on undead at the ruined towns. Winterspring grinding at winterfall village or Lake Kel'Theril undead highbornes (my personal favorite camp). Blackrock Stronghold in Burning Steppes for grinding.

58-60: 'The' yeti cave in Winterspring, due Southeast of Everlook (very nice place). Grosh Gok compound ogres in Deadwind pass (great spot, no one knows about it). Eastern plaguelands Fungal Vale undead grinding and argent dawn token farming. Moonowls in northeast winterspring for grinding.

Leveling Ruo's Talent Level Progression (10-50) (World of Warcraft lag)

Talent progression:
(PVE)
Levels 10-14: Improved Fireball the best dps increase you can get at this level, since your Rank 3 Fireball has a base 2.5s casting time, this lets you get them off at 2.0s each.

Levels 15-16: Flame Throwing is nice because range is convenient and lets you get in more fireballs when fighting mobs. Also, Ignite can be put off since your Intellect (and thus crit rate) is still pathetically low.

Levels 17-21: Ignite is a raw damage increase for when you crit.

Levels 22-26: Improved Arcane Missiles because it's time to build Arcane to get Instant Arcane Explosion for use in instances.

Levels 27-31: Arcane Concentration to get clearcasts.

Level 32: Evocation for mana regen once every 10 minutes… at this level it's going to be around 100% of your mana pool, which is very nice. Be warned, it starts fading away from there around level 40ish and at level 60 you can expect about 50% of your mana pool back from Evoc.

Level 33-37: Improved Arcane Explosion is very good for the instances you'll be doing at around this level and up — Gnomeregan, Razorfen Downs, Uldaman, Temple and on up really appreciate it.

Level 38-39: Incinerate to make Scorch more useful in Instances, since you'll now be able to scorch for a clearcast to fire Arcane Missiles on.

Level 40: Pyroblast because it's the best place to drop a point in Fire and you might as well get it. It's really not that great… though it is slightly more mana efficent than Fireball

Level 41-45: Improved Scorch because Scorch is very much an PvE Instance spell and this talent makes it all that much more mana efficient. Impact won't really do that much for you in instances and Blast Wave isn't worth the points in Flamestrike for its PvE utility.

Level 46-48: Critical Mass for more critical strikes… damage increase.

Herbalism 1-300 (Horde Biased) (World of Warcraft leveling service)

Herbalism guide

First off, a bit of background to this guide. This is the second guide that I've written for wow Professions, I do not pretend to be the most knowledgeable of players, and am defiantly not one for playing for massive swathes of time. However, I do tend to persist at things until I have a good understanding of how things work.

My main character is a level 60 Tauren Shaman (go cows!), I dropped Skinning (very easy to level) and picked up Herbalism, for one reason - cash. Although all server economies vary alot (and I do mean alot!), high level herbs sell for enough to make it worth spending an hour picking them and selling them on the auction house. At the top end, a stack of herbs might sell for 10g/15g (or more), and getting a couple of stacks in an hour isn't too difficult.

If you have picked up Herbalism at level 5, then you can largely discount this guide as a way of skilling up. By picking Herbs where you are currently levelling, you should naturally improve your skill in Herbalism. Instead this guide is really intended for people who have already reached a high level, and wish to either change or pick up Herbalism as a profession.

There are a few things that you can do to speed up levelling Herbalism. First off, is that Tauren receive +15 Herbalism as a racial skill - not (in my opinion) as good as Human's bonus to reputation gains, but better than a kick in the teeth if you take up Herbalism :) Next up, there are two glove enchants that provide a small bonus to Herbalism (+2 and +5). These bonus's don't make much difference, but will mean that you can go from one area to another just that little bit quicker. One tip that I can give, is that if you have a set of gloves with either +2 or +5 enchant on them, only use them if you can pick herbs you otherwise wouldn't be able to. By not wearing them, you can eak out more skill ups than otherwise (eg, if you have a skill of 195 and Herb goes grey at 200, wearing a set of +5 gloves will mean there’s no chance of a skill up, not wearing them gives you 5 potential skill ups and a stack or so of herbs). Finally, Druids and Shaman have a distinct advantage over other classes as both have a travel form. In Ghost Wolf form, you can actually pick herbs (no need to come out of it), and Druids can flick into Travel Form and back again, with no time issues. If you are using a mount between each spawn of herbs, then you have the extra 3 second cast time to summon your mount after each pick.

To grind out a gathering skill from 1 to 300 is a relatively simple process for a level 60. Very few mobs will give you real jip, and most won't even aggro you. For Herbalism, I reckon that a 4 or 5 hour solid grind would be enough to sort you out (excluding travel time).

The following is a rough list of where I would recommend to pick herbs and at what skill levels. Please use your own intelligence when it comes to picking herbs! Grey herbs won't ever give you a skill up, so unless you want/need them, leave them alone. Don't go into a new zone until you can pick at least 50% of the herbs available. Download and install the gatherer add-on and gatherbook (use this to download a large file with every spawn point), this will allow you to make educated guesses as to what areas to go to, to collect different herbs.

1-100 - Durotar.
Couldn't be simpler, just go the length of Durotar and collect anything you can. Herbs are close together and to be honest, pose no real difficulties. You can quite happily stop Durotar at skill level 75, and go onto The Barrens. However with the very high concentration of herbs, I actually found it quicker to carry on until 100 (where almost everything goes grey).
100-150 - The Barrens.
Begin in the Northern Barrens and then head south. Although there are lots of spawn points, I found that most herbs seemed to appear in clumps of two or three and then a big gap between them. As such using a mount isn't a bad idea.
150-200 - Alterac Mountains and Arathi Highlands
Two options that to be honest, arn't too different from each other. Arathi has more spawn points, but is slightly larger. However I actually preferred Arathi Highlands as it allowed me to do Arathi Basin Battleground runs and flick back to picking herbs with no downtime :)
200-240 - Tanaris
This was the slowest place for my grind but I wanted Firebloom to level up enchanting :) The spawn points are miles apart and its frankly in the middle of nowhere. Better alternatives would be Stranglethorn Vale (for those not on a PvP server!), Dustwallow Marsh or Swamp of Sorrows.
240 - 280 - Feralas and Swamp of Sorrows
Feralas has an abundance of Sungrass and the Swamp of Sorrows an abundance of Blindweed. Simple really. By now you are picking herbs that sell for OK cash. As such, I'd recommend sticking to a single zone and try to get stacks of the same herb as this ought to bring in more cash (whole stacks rather than part stacks).
280 - 300 - Varies
To be honest, I'd say that there isn't a single area that is better than another for the last 20 skill levels. Winterspring is nice once you hit 290, as there are only three different herbs there that sell for good money. The Eastern Plaguelands has an OK amount of Plaguebloom. Pretty much, do whatever you fancy, providing you're getting skill ups, who cares!

On the Auction House
OK, some pretty fundamental ground rules for using the Auction House.

First off, know your punters and your opposition! If you are wanting to sell something as a regular event (such as Herbs) check the Auction House every night for a week or two, for the item you are selling. Look for patterns. If there appears to never be your item on the Auction House every Monday, Tuesday and Friday, but its overloaded on a Wednesday and Saturday, then you've already spotted a trend that you can exploit. Next up ensure that you know what professions and recipies require your item. One example of this is the herb Wildvine. Wildvine is used in Alchemy, Tailoring, Blacksmithing and Leatherworking, it drops from other herbs when you pick them. Now the greatest single quantity of Wildvine used in one recipie is 6. Others use 1, 2 and 4. As such, selling a stack of 7 Wildvine is not as desirable as a stack of 4 or 6 to most punters. Not all customers have big blobs of cash to spend, and if somebody just wants to make an item that requires 4 Wildvine, why do they want to spend extra gold on 3 more when they're never going to use them!

Next up is overloading. If you've spent 4 weeks farming Icecap from Winterspring, and have ended up with 40 stacks of the stuff, don't be so stupid as to stick all of it onto the Auction House all at once. As well as costing you for each listing, it will actually lower the cost of that herb as your opposition undercuts you, and customers see that there is now an abundance of it available.

Don't forget that many players have real lives. During the weekend, the Auction House goes mental and items are bought and sold every minute. During the week, this is much, much slower. Having said that, never be afraid to try selling items in the week. If the regular farmer of an item only plays at the weekend, and there’s a person out there who plays every night, then you've found your corner of the market!

Finally, don't forget the basics. If you are farming for a specific profession (herbs for Alchemy, ore for Mining, etc), then identify the most basic item required and farm it like mad! Selling Copper Ore at 50s for a stack of 10 will make you quite a bit of cash over time :)
